Over the years, Ralph Lauren has established itself as a global leader when it comes to premium lifestyle products from apparel, accessories, fragrances and many more. It’s been a 50 years long journey since they have been paving way for them to be recognized as the world’s leading brand and serve the international markets like none else. Some of the most renowned brand names from the company include Ralph Lauren, Ralph Lauren Collection, Polo Ralph Lauren, Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Double RL, Polo Ralph Lauren Children, Club Monaco, and Chaps, among various others.
Over all these years, the clothing manufacturer has shown its undeniable commitment to the environment and has ventured into quite a few initiatives that were meant to preserve nature. Here we have a few details about all the good work of this American brand.
Ralph Lauren Environment-Friendly Initiatives
In 2017, Ralph Lauren joined the movement to restrict deforestation by adopting certain sustainability policies. It reduced sourcing the wood-based fabrics, like rayon and viscose, giving relief to those already threatened rainforests. They became part of the initiative with Rainforest Action Network and helped persuade luxury-goods-makers to ensure environmental-friendly sourcing of the wood-based raw materials they used in their products.
Last year, they banned the use of Mohair after PETA – the animal rights organization – filmed a video showing goats getting abused for obtaining their fur.
The Introduction Of Environment-Friendly Earth Polo
The good work continues as the apparel brand has now introduced its Earth Polo – the company’s latest environmental-friendly initiative. The thread used in these shirts is obtained entirely from plastic bottles that have been recycled and dyed through an innovative process without using any water whatsoever. On average, one Earth Polo will use 12 recycled plastic bottles.
According to their chief innovation officer, the brand is committed to remove 170mn bottles, at least, from the oceans and landfills by 2025 in the bid to convert from using all-virgin poly-fiber to the recycled poly-fiber.
