Amazon has confirmed the 2019 Prime Day will be 15- 16 July.
And the best news is it will last 48 hours this year!
You ask, what is Prime Day?
Prime Day is probably the biggest annual shopping day in the US, some say bigger than Black Friday. That said it is sometimes referred to as the Summer’s Black Friday. The first Prime Day started in 2015. Last year, Prime Day lasted 36 hours, up from the 30 hours in 2017.
Similar to all American holiday sales, markdowns can begin up to a week before the official start day/time, so you now is the time to start researching prices for things you want to buy.
Amazon’s own products like smart home devices (Echo) and tablets (Fire) and eReaders (kindle) are usually items with great savings. It is a popular day for companies to announce new launches and/or special edition items. Similar to Black Friday, other US online merchants will have big sales at the same time so they don’t lose out to Amazon.
As the name suggests, you must be an Amazon Prime Member to participate in the sale. The idea behind the sale was for Amazon to reward its Prime Members (and encourage new customers to sign up for the service). However, if you are not a Prime Member and don’t want to pay the annual fee (USD119), Amazon offers a 30-day free trial which you can sign up for during the month of July. Just don’t forget to cancel the free trial before the end of the 30 days or you will be charged the fee automatically to the credit card on file with Amazon.
Once Amazon announces the date and details, we will be sure to let you know so you can take advantage of the amazing sales this year, then ship all your purchases to HK with EgapGO in an affordable manner!
Mark you calendar for great shopping!
